Hello World: Happy Anniversary!
October 3rd, a month since this blog began and it’s been an exciting project so far. When I launched this site on my birthday, I had no idea where I was going with it. I just wanted an outlet for writing and expressing my thoughts on my favorite topic, i.e. love, with the goal of finding an audience that will relate to and discuss (or at least read and enjoy) my little stories, musings and anecdotes. I only expected a handful of readers though I was hoping to reach 50 by the anniversary date. So I am totally blown away! The feedback I’ve received so far and the rapidly growing readership has exceeded all of my expectations. To personally share some of this excitement with you, I’m starting this new category called Hello World where I’ll publish news and updates specifically about this site, about other projects I’m working on and about me. So on that note, here’s my first update…
For those of you who are analytics geeks like myself, here are some statistics on the first month’s site activity (from September 3rd to October 2nd):
- 4,604 Page Views
- 1,448 Visits
- 757 Unique Visitors
- 153 Average Page Views Per Day
- 52 Countries Viewed
- 517 Facebook Fans
Fellow readers include those from the United States, India, Malaysia, Italy, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Belgium, France and Canada, these being the top 10 countries, and surprisingly, the combined readership in India and Malaysia come a close second to the US in visits and Facebook fan-manship. It’s amazing how quickly the word spreads through the internet!
So I must thank you for frequenting this site and reading my little stories. I have never been so excited or ecstatic about anything before. I find myself smiling often these days, eager to write the next article and even more eager to read your comments and thoughts (whether they are good or bad as long as they’re not indifferent). So THANK YOU! You have given this project more meaning and purpose than I originally envisioned.
And if you’re wondering what’s next, stay tuned for more stories, more reflective musings and travel to new parts of the world where more stories will be told.
